Parental Rights with Heather Rooks and Bethany Miller
Peoria Unified School Board member Heather Rooks and CAP Legislative Counsel Bethany Miller join our Summer Issues Series to discuss how to navigate the complexities of parental rights, specifically surrounding schools and educational freedom.
Heather calls herself the “notorious Peoria mom” and a “Mama warrior” for her four children. She began her school involvement concerned about what was happening in her children’s classrooms. As she learned more about what was happening, and not happening, she advocated for parents, then ran for school board and won!
Bethany is an attorney and mother of four who educates her children at home while also drafting laws and advocating for parents’ rights as part of CAP’s team.
