Pro-Life Lawmakers Show Their Character in Repeal Vote

Today was a victory for life, even if only temporarily. Most pro-life lawmakers kept their promise today to protect the unborn and their mothers and not repeal Arizona’s pre-Roe law, A.R.S. 13-3603.

In the House, gratefully, pro-abortion lawmakers failed in their attempt to roll the Speaker of the House and override his vote against bringing the repeal up for a vote. Only Representative Matt Gress supported the repeal.

In the Senate, however, a majority approved a motion to introduce a bill to repeal.

Senators T.J. Shope and Shawnna Bolick did not keep their prior pro-life commitments and voted with pro-abortion activist lawmakers.

Those who promise to protect life as a candidate should stand for life as a lawmaker.

The law to limit abortion to cases where the woman’s life is in danger was in effect in January of 1973 when Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided and remains on the books today thanks to those lawmakers who stood boldly for the unborn and their mothers while their colleagues sucummed to political pressure at the cost of life.
