Hobbs Wants to Take Choice Away from Parents

A Statement from Center for Arizona Policy President, Cathi Herrod, Esq.

A proposed budget that takes away options from parents and resources from pregnant homeless women, and doubles down on funding for abortion clinics – is not a budget reflective of a “Governor for all Arizonans.”

Governor Katie Hobbs will have to answer to the tens of thousands of Arizona families who eagerly applied for Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) last year to send their children to a better suited school. She will have to explain why Arizona families do not deserve the freedom to choose an education she had the privilege of when she was in school.

Will Governor Hobbs tell children who are finally thriving in a new educational environment that they must go back to where they were so she can fund her pet projects?

Apparently, because Hobbs wants to completely defund the wildly popular ESA program and instead, fund abortion clinics with money funneled through Title X. Not a good look for a Governor who won a tight election and now represents a diverse state.
