NEW SURVEY: ARIZONA VOTERS SUPPORT ESA PROGRAM AND TAX CREDIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Statewide poll finds broad support for ESA program, with 80% of parents backing programs that empower families.

PHOENIX—Eight in ten Arizona parents with children at home support the state’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program, according to a new statewide survey released today by Center for Arizona Policy. The poll of 600 registered voters also reveals strong backing for ESAs and Tax Credit Scholarships (STOs) across party lines and demographics.

Overall, 67% of registered voters support Arizona’s ESA program, which provides approximately $7,500 per student for private school tuition, home education, tutoring, learning therapies, online academies, and more. Support spans political and demographic lines: 79% of Republicans, 69% of Independents, and nearly half of Democrats (49%) back the program—despite vocal opposition from Governor Hobbs and Democratic legislators. Among Hispanic voters, 77% voiced support.

Tax Credit Scholarships proved even more popular, drawing 78% support. The program’s appeal crosses party and racial lines: 73% of Democrats, 80% of Republicans and Independents, and 82% of Hispanic voters favor it.

“These results confirm what families tell us every day,” said Center for Arizona Policy President Peter Gentala. “Arizonans love having options for educating their children—regardless of party or race. The numbers prove it: ESA enrollment has surged from 10,000 to nearly 100,000 participants in just three years. Arizona leads the nation in educational freedom, and we will continue defending the ESA and Tax Credit Scholarship programs that help families access the best educational settings for their students.”
