8th Video Released: Planned Parenthood a “volume institution”

Statement from Center for Arizona Policy President Cathi Herrod

PHOENIX – “Today’s 8th video from the Center for Medical Progress continued to show the callous disregard displayed by Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby towards babies and their mothers. Women and their preborn babies deserve better than to be viewed as part of a quota to fill.

Planned Parenthood and other abortion lobby leaders often say that they are looking out for the care and wellbeing of all women, but the facts and countless stories coming out of their clinics continuously present a different picture.

To illustrate that point, in this latest video, StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer calls Planned Parenthood a “volume institution,” meaning that they have more baby body parts to harvest and to sell because they perform more abortions than other independent abortion facilities. Ms. Dyer also calls into question the conditions of some of the abortion clinics that StemExpress harvests baby body parts from, highlighting the immediate need for comprehensive answers in order to protect the health and safety of women.

These videos prove that Planned Parenthood doesn’t look at women with “care.” Rather, Planned Parenthood looks at women simply as numbers that are needed to satisfy a quota for companies and researchers demanding the harvesting of baby body parts.

According to Alliance Defending Freedom, there are currently 13,540 clinics nationwide providing comprehensive health care for women. Planned Parenthood only has 665 locations nationally.  In Arizona, Planned Parenthood has only ten clinics located in only three metropolitan areas. Yet 183 Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Clinics are available statewide to provide necessary and complete health care services for women. Planned Parenthood can claim anything they want, but the truth is that they offer women’s health as a front for their real business: ending the innocent and helpless lives of countless babies and endangering the emotional and physical health of women in the process.

Though the new videos continue to horrify me, sadly, the content in the videos do not shock me. Babies and women would be much safer without Planned Parenthoods in operation, and I am more resolved than ever to do what is necessary to protect women and preborn babies from the dangerous and deadly practices undertaken by Planned Parenthood clinics.”
