CAP-CAN Liaison Job Description

All CAP-CAN volunteers will receive our free 5 Minutes for Families updates, bi-weekly Community Action Network Emails, and CAP Action Alerts via email.

Basic Liaison Duties:

  • Find Your Legislators – consider identifying both for you and for your church.
  • Work within the leadership of your church or organization to keep the leaders and members informed about issues affecting the family.
  • Receive CAP emails. Pass along practical ways to stay informed and get involved.
  • Coordinate and supervise voter registration twice a year, or as needed. Visit the CAP’s Voter Information Center for a free packet to help you get organized.
  • Prior to elections, distribute CAP Voter Guides.

Additional Ideas to Consider:

  • Sign others up to receive CAP’s email update, 5 Minutes for Families.
  • Maintain a CAP-CAN display. Free resources and brochures can be ordered from CAP.
  • Get educated about Family Policy Issues and What Churches Can and Cannot Do.
  • Utilize the practical “How To” tips found on the bottom of the Volunteer Network page. Examples include: how to start a governmental prayer group, how to write a letter to the editor, how to promote covenant marriage, how to get your church involved in issues, how to start a Bible club, and many more.
  • Consider joining or leading a Truth Project small group.
  • Check CAP’s web site, www.azpolicy.org, regularly for information on current issues and upcoming events. There are many resources and links available to help you make an impact!
  • Respond to and distribute CAP Action Alerts.
  • Direct people to CAP’s Legal Department when you hear about issues of religious freedom violations. CAP may be able to provide free legal advice for churches and individuals facing a potential violation of their constitutional rights.
  • Encourage others to become CAP-CAN Local Activists.
  • Share testimonies, ideas, and comments with CAP-CAN Director, Amy Adams.
