The Money Doesn't Lie - Embryonic Stem Cell Research Fails to Deliver
In 2004 California voters passed a measure to give $3 Billion to embryonic stem cell research (ESCR). The returns on the investment? Next to nothing. An Investor's Business Daily editorial states that ESCR "has failed to deliver and the backers of Proposition 71 are admitting failure."
Dr. Bernadine Healy, former director of the National Institutes of Health says, "embryonic stem cells, once thought to hold the cure for Alzheimer's, Pakinson's and diabetes, are obsolete."
Perhaps what is even more telling is that instead of continuing to use the funds towards ESCR, the monies are now being funneled towards adult stem cell research and therapy. Why? Because that is where the therapies truly lie, and the scientists and doctors have realized that.
Here are just a few examples of the therapies available through adult stem cells:
- Bones being fused back together
- Multiple sclerosis treatment
- Help repair heart damage
- Reduce the risk of future heart attacks
