CAP's Work Featured in Citizen Magazine
The March 2010 edition of Citizen Magazine featured an article about a Phoenix coalition of more than 30 churches and Christian organizations that have come together to address the problem of child sex slavery with a three-pronged approach.
First is raising awareness of the problem through Branded – a 51-minute film detailing the issue of child prostitution. Second is the StreetLight Program (StreetLightPhx.com) – a ministry to provide safe housing and rehabilitation for girls rescued from the sex trade. And third is CAP’s legislative effort this session to eliminate loopholes for men who have sex with a minor.
Currently, HB 2699 is awaiting a full vote in the Arizona House of Representatives. It will then need to pass the Senate before it can reach the Governor for a signature to become law.
