Arizona Stands Alone

On this Veteran’s Day, I am grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed time with their families, potential career advancement, risked their lives and much more to defend and advance freedom for all. We at CAP are humbled by your selflessness.

Thank you to all veterans for stepping up to serve!

Arizona Stands Alone

Arizona stands alone today as the only state to reject recreational marijuana by defeating Prop 205! Four other states passed similar measures: California, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Maine – which passed by such a narrow margin, it faces a possible recount.

It was close: Roughly 52% to 48%, with more than a million Arizona voters rejecting Prop 205.

This doesn’t happen without people like you. You, the voter.  You, the church leader. You, the informer. This victory shows the power of your due diligence in getting educated on the facts and sharing that information with people inside your circle of influence. Because it was the details in Prop 205 that did it in – the lack of safeguards, the danger to our youth, the lack of local control and much more.

You saw through the deceptive tactics of the marijuana industry and sent the strong message that our youth and their futures are not for sale.

We are fortunate enough to have bold leaders who rejected the lure of proclaimed revenue and stood up for Arizonans – leaders like Governor Doug Ducey, Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery, Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk, advocate Debbie Moak, and others.

We are grateful, too, for the many pastors throughout Arizona who took the time to get informed and then spoke out boldly against the measure.

We challenged you to Be the Difference this election year. You excelled. Thank You!

As you were an integral part of the victory, I would be honored to celebrate with you next Thursday at the Biltmore.

We will also be honoring some of the key community leaders who spearheaded the campaign against the marijuana measure.
