One of the most ground-breaking bills passed by the legislature this session was SB 1553. This bill, which was signed by Governor Brewer, creates Empowerment Scholarship Accounts that allow parents of children with special needs to redirect 90% of the tax dollars that would go to their child’s public education to the education services of their choice.
The bill’s sponsor, Senator Rick Murphy, went on 3TV’s Politics Unplugged this week to debate this bill with the Arizona Education Association. Watch the video below:
